The return of TOJam!

The best indie game development jam in the world, TOJam, is coming back for its third year. I participated in the first event in 2006 (which is where I created Alien Abduction!), but my computer died right at the beginning of the second one, last year.

I still haven't been able to replace that computer (donations plz kthx) so I won't be able to participate in TOJam 3. But events like this are something the IGDA Indie SIG should be sponsoring, and helping organize in other cities as well. Among other things.

Michael Lubker and I, two of the three coordinators of the SIG, were hoping to have an online chat Saturday evening to discuss with the community ways the SIG could be more helpful to the independent game development community. Unfortunately, nobody turned out, so we'll have to arrange for another date, possibly April 26. It couldn't be earlier than probably 7:30-8:00pm (EDT) since I'll be in Oshawa for the GameCamp event at UOIT and getting to and from there by public transit.

Anyway, I hope that TOJam 3 goes great! And if possible, I'd love to be able to visit on one of the days (possibly the Saturday afternoon, or Sunday) and see how everyone's games are working out.
